At Ignite Church, our mission is anchored and driven by the word of God. While the world around us is constantly changing, we stand firm on eternal truths and the teachings of Scripture.
Bible
We believe in the accuracy, truth, authority, and power of the Holy Scriptures as the Word of God. It gives an accurate account of who God is, what He has done, and how we should live.
2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Pet 1:20-21; Prov 30:5; Heb 4:12
One God
There is only one true God—the Creator, Sustainer, and Sovereign Ruler of all things. He is a deeply personal God who has revealed Himself eternally in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Gen 1:1-2; Deut 6:4; Jer 29:13; Ps 24:1; Matt 3:16-17, 28:19; 1 Cor 2:10-11
Jesus
Jesus is the eternal Son of God who was born of a virgin, lived in the flesh, died for the sins of the world, was buried, rose again, and ascended to the Father according to the Scriptures. It is by His name that salvation is possible.
John 1:1-2, 14; Col 1:15, 17; Matt 1:18-23, 28:26; Acts 1:9-11; Rom 4:25; Phil 2:6-7
Sin
Sin is the ultimate root of brokenness for humanity and the entire world. We are naturally separated from our holy Creator, deserving of His righteous judgment, and living in a world marked by the pain that sin creates.
Rom 5:12, 3:10-23, 5:12-21, 8:20-22; Eph 4:1-3; Heb 9:27; Isa 59:2
Salvation
The gospel is the good news that salvation is a free gift from God (grace), achieved through the perfect life, sacrificial death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because we cannot earn our way to God, this gift must be personally received by repenting of our sins and putting our faith in Jesus alone as Savior and Lord.
John 1:12, 3:16, 10:28-29; Acts 3:19; Rom 3:10-12, 8:28-39; 1 Cor 15:1-3, 9-10; Eph 2:1-10; Titus 2:11-12
Holy Spirit
We are called to live on this earth not by our own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling within every believer. It is His daily presence that enables us to reflect the life of Christ and make the name of our Heavenly Father known to the world around us.
1 Cor 6:19; Rom 8:9; Eph 1:13-14; Gal 5:16, 22-23; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor 3:18; John 16:13-14
The Church
We believe that everyone who puts their faith in Christ is joined together as one universal Body, the Church. This unique community of faith is expressed locally through churches like ours, actively engaging culture to bring God’s hope and love to the world as we eagerly await Christ’s personal return.
Matt 28:19-20; 1 Cor 1:2, 12:12-14, Acts 2:42-47; 1 Pet 1:9; Heb 10:24-25
Mission
Our mission on earth as believers in Jesus, through the gifts and talents He has equipped us with, is to actively illuminate God’s glory and be ambassadors of Christ, to be His witnesses, and to share the gospel with our neighbors, our city, and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8; Matt 5:14-16; Eph 5:8, 6:20; 2 Cor 5:20; Mark 16:15, 1 Peter 3:15
